Gmail

Welcome to another post about a resource used in our project! Today we will be exposing a tool you have probably used, Gmail!

In our Didactic Unit, this well-known tool is used in multiple times; in the introductory session - not the first one - students use it to receive the city mayor's invitation for the meeting for the next day. In the ninth session students send the invitation for the exposition about their respective proyects.

As in other posts, let's see what is Gmail and how to use it!

What is Gmail?

Gmail is defined by Wikipedia as 'a free email service developed by Google. Users can access Gmail on the web and using third-party programs that synchronize email content through POPor IMAP protocols.' Gmail is defined as an email service, so it's easy to assume that you can send and receive emails. This is the main use given to this services, but joining video meetings, chatting, synchronize your calendar, ... Multiple additional combinations are available.

How to use Gmail?

The first step is obviously to log into your account with Google! We won't be telling how to register in Gmail since by havind a Google account, you automatically have Gmail. Once you have access to your Gmail account, you will be on your 'Inbox', which is basically the place where you can control and see everything of your Gmail.

To do the basics, which are send and receive emails, it's really easy. To send an email you must first click on '+ Compose'. A small window will open on the bottom right (you can maximize it). In that window you will see the 'Recipients' and the 'Subject' on the two upper "lines", the big square is for the description or what you are interested to send. You can attach files, a link, emojis, photos,... Once you are done, you can click 'Send'. If you click on the small arrow next to 'Send', another option unfolds, which is 'Schedule send'. You can program when a mail will be sent!

Here ends another post about an useful tool you can find and use in the Internet! Hope you enjoyed it and learned something new!
