GOOGLE DRIVE AS A STORAGE TOOL

The main tool that our students will use to gather all the information, coming from both direct and indirect sources, is Google Drive.

Google Drive is an online file storage service. Created by Google, this service has replaced what was known a few years ago as Google Docs.

How can you use Google Drive in the classroom?

To have Google Drive you only need to have a Google email account. It is a totally free service and each user has 15 Gigabytes of free storage to save all the information. It also has the advantage that it is a service that you can use on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Google Drive is compatible with all operating systems and browsers.

What can you create with Google Drive?

  • Folders. Create folders to organize all stored files.

  • Documents. Create and modify documents. Insert images and comments. Share, publish and print.

  • Introductions. Create and modify presentations simultaneously with other users. Upload already existing presentations. Download presentations in format . pdf, . ppt, .txt. Insert image and embed video. It is compatible with Office and Libreoffice.

  • Spreadsheets. Create and modify spreadsheets. Insert data and formulas. Share and publish spreadsheets with other users.

  • Forms. Plan events. Survey. Create evidence. Connect a form to a spreadsheet.

  • Drawings. Edit and insert. Mind maps. Brainstorm. Posters.

Everything stored on Google Drive automatically syncs across your devices and lets you work with or without an internet connection. Google recommends using the Google Chrome browser for a better experience with Google Drive.
