WEEK 5


Welcome one more week! How are things going?


Today it is time to update you a little bit about our progress in the project of the Didactic Unit. Last week we finished the design of our objectives and now it is time to start with the development of the sessions and activities. We are really excited about this part of the project as it is the "heart" of it.


Let me explain you what our activities consist of:


In the first session, as it is the starting point of our project, we found fundamental to arise student's interest and attention. For this reason, we thought about the idea of meeting through the Google Meet platform with the Mayor of the village. Thanks to this dynamic students can get their first contact with the project. Once they finished this talk, then the Mayor is going to make them a proposal (stay tuned to know more about this 😉) on which they will have to reflect making use of technological resources such as the platform "Padlet". In this way, not only will they share their ideas and conclusions but also the teacher will be able to know the previous ideas of the students.


Designing the second session of our project, we thought of creating a representative avatar to guide and help students in the different challenges presented. In this way, we designed "Ecoxia". Ecoxia will present the project and provide a series of instructions to follow during the activities through a booklet in Word or PDF format. Then, our students will go on an excursion with the aim of knowing the environmental problems of their nearest environment. To do this Ecoxia will provide a video with the itinerary to follow : school, urban area, green area, industrial area and recycling plant. On this tour, our students will take 5 different roles with their respective roles: photographers, take notes, record videos, collect samples and air surveyor/meter.


The last session we elaborated this week was third session. Once the students finish the excursion, the members of each role will have to collect all the material and information and share it with the aim oh having their own source of information. Besides, a Kahoot based on pollution and recycling has been designed so students can challenge themselves after the activity aforementioned. Finally, we will proceed to the realization of a brainstorming 🧠 in order to conclude what we saw on the excursion and as a link to the debate with a professional in which students will deal issues related to the impact of pollution on environment.



It is truth that this week has been really busy for all of us as we had to start the development of this project and we wanted to have everything as linked as possible. However, we are happy with our results, coming weeks seem to be really interesting! 👀
